The former chief operating officer of defunct health-tech start-up Theranos, Sunny Balwani, has been convicted on all 12 charges of defrauding investors and patients. His criminal case has paralleled that of Elizabeth Holmes, founder of Theranos and former girlfriend. He faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Found guilty of fraud. Giovanni has been convicted on 12 charges of defrauding investors and patients alike. He was indicted four years ago along with Theranos founder and then girlfriend Elizabeth Holmes. Boudouani faces up to 20 years in prison, as well as a $250,000 fine plus restitution of each count of fraud and conspiracy.
