Summer just arrived. And as Ashley Masindi reports, experts are warning soon. So could another COVID wave experts say you may want to dust off your face mask since another wave of COVID-19 is looming, 14 of New York City's wastewater treatment plants showed high levels of COVID-19 in the past week since COVID-19 can be detected in the gut. This means it's being passed into sewer water when people are using the restroom. It shows that there's an uptick in people who currently have COVID-19. Experts say trends like this start in large cities and can be a predictor of a national COVID wave, Zachariah Hennessey, Executive Vice President of Public Health Solutions in New York says there's a few things you can do to stay safe if another wave is on the way mask, particularly if you're going to be in a crowded indoor space with a large number of people. A mask will still reduce the likelihood of transmission testing if you're experiencing any potentially new respiratory symptoms like a cough or a sore throat and then obtaining the bivalent vaccine which protects against the most recent strains of Ron. Right now, New York City doesn't have an accurate number of people who actually have COVID since most people are testing at home and labs aren't reporting their results. Ashley Masar Chet News.
