Facebook faces pressure from 44 attorneys general to rethink plans to launch a version of Instagram for children under the age of 12. Washington, DC Attorney General Karl Racine told Cheddar that young people are susceptible to the same types of addiction adults have on social media: clicks, likes, and fans. The AGs also say they want to protect kids from predators in light of tens of thousands of reports last year of predators enticing minors over social media. Facebook response to the request said in part, "We want to improve this situation by delivering experiences that give parents visibility and control over what their kids are doing."
