Fairchild Archive Opens Pop-Up Museum For New York Fashion Week

The Fairchild Archive is opening their doors for a special museum style pop up in lower Manhattan. All showing that new york fashion week. A lot more than just models strutting down the runways. Now, I caught up with the president of Fairchild Media Amanda smith all to talk about the exhibit and also fashion's future in the metaphors take a look. I am so excited about this experience. To me it is our first chance to connect with consumers during fashion week with the Pop up and we have a massive 110 year old archive of Prince. We've got clothing on site, we've got shoes and what I want for everyone is to get a big taste of what it's like to be closer to women's wear daily input news and see our world. And I want to share that from the business perspective to a huge fashion lever where three different rooms right now, the Fairchild Archive has everything from streetwear to fashion, to footwear. And so are three rooms are broken down by history of fashion with WWD footwear and then a store with metaverse and chop a ble moments. One of the rooms is the best of now, which is sort of amazing because you sort of see early trends of these fashion designers sort of breaking these trends and figuring out what's cool and hip at that time. What do you think of like these sort of forward thinking fashion designers thinking about this stuff so early on. I love to see it. We're looking at various trends that are big for both the moment and football. We're looking at more things that you can buy And then looking forward with our own metaphors and an experience. There were necessary runway shows taking place in the metaverse. What do you sort of think about these two interesting things merging together the fashion world and sort of gets new technology coming together, fascist pioneering the way in the digital metaverse. It's not surprising at all that the fashion and the trends that we see happening around the world start with the designers. The metaverse is an incredible experience and a way to interact with your own consumers. And if the brand or designer isn't talking to their customers where they want to be, they're going to run into a problem. It's interesting because fashion designers right now are participating in the metaverse. They're doing their runway shows. They're selling products. They're making an effort to connect with their audience in a really special way. So you almost feel like the audience is getting a much more up close and personal sort of look at the fashion world than they never had before. Up close and personal. Look, it's customized for them and it meets them where they are at home or wherever they are in their life. Let's talk fashion trends right now because I know this is something you love to talk about. I had to tell leather really And right now the white t shirt is in right now. These are all sort of things that are hearkening back to all nostalgia. What do you think of these trends? And also what do you think about these things that we used to wear years ago making their sort of return here? I love the nostalgia. I like the return of familiarity. I think we all like the moment when we come back for fall and we start thinking about boots and sweaters, leather and long coats and whatever they take on that of this season. It's fun and exciting and it's really a chance to express yourself and an artistic art form. And we're celebrating fashion month all week long here on wiggle with cheddar.
