As Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off, Guillermo Andrade, fashion designer and co-founder of 424, and Miguel Garcia Castillo, founder and principal at c/olabworks, joined Cheddar’s ‘Opening Bell’ to talk about their new partnership on a 10-week apprenticeship program, in concert with Hornitos Tequila, aimed at helping diverse fashion entrepreneurs learn the business. Andrade noted some of the obstacles that young designers face while building their brands, including finding safe spaces to collaborate on ideas. "We're out of the shadows. We're coming and we're sharing our stories. And they are powerful and they're meaningful and they're incredibly relevant today more than ever," Andrade said addressing Hispanic Heritage Month specifically. "I just wanted to work as hard as possible so other people can see that certain things can be done."
