The FBI announced they have taken down a criminal ransomware network used for over hundreds of thousands of cyber attacks. The quack bot net system infected over 700,000 computers with malware including 200,000 in the US. $9 million worth of Cryptocurrency was also recovered. The FBI worked alongside agencies in the US UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania and Latvia to shut down the network. No one has been arrested as a part of the probe but the investigation is ongoing.
