FDA Loosens Restrictions on Food Labeling

The coronavirus pandemic continues to bring nationwide uncertainty, even hitting the food supply chain. As a result, the FDA is loosening its guidelines on food labeling. Under the new policy, food producers can make small changes to the ingredients in a product, without indicating the changes on the ingredient list. Dr. Scott Sicherer, director at Mt. Sinai Jaffe Food Allergy Institute, joined Wake Up With Cheddar to discuss how this will affect those who suffer from food allergies.
