A grim milestone for the New York Fire Department. A total number of firefighter deaths as a result of an illness from the September 11th attack. It's now 343 in a social post. The FDNY commissioner said with these deaths, we have reached a somber remarkable milestone. We have now suffered the same number of deaths post September 11 th as we experienced that day when the North and South towers fell, our hearts break for the families of these members and all who love them through the World Trade Center Health Registry. The health of more than 71,000 people is being tracked. This of course includes first responders as well as residents and workers from the area who were exposed to those toxic materials.
