FEMA to Test Emergency Alert System

All right, if you see it here, an emergency alert on your phone tomorrow, do not worry. That's because the Federal Emergency Management agency or FEMA is testing a nationwide emergency alert system tomorrow at 2 20 pm Eastern. It's scheduled to go out to all phones as well as on radio and television. So the agency says wireless providers will transmit the national test for 30 minutes, but that your phone should only receive it once. So if the test doesn't go as planned, the backup testing date is next Wednesday, October 11. I'm sure a lot of people are glad to hear about this in advance quick alert on your phone. I'm not sure if it's just quick on TV and radio as well, but certainly helpful for planning purposes. You and I are actually on air at that time, tune into our show at 2 30 Monday through Friday. But yeah, I think the advance notice is crucial for so many of us, millions of us that are going to get this call. Definitely.
