Finding Value Betting the NFL Draft's 1st Round

Welcome back to cheddar bats brought to you by bet. MgM. It's the day when NFL teams select their futures of the franchise. The draft kicks off tonight from the las Vegas strip and we are diving right in. Yeah. And joining us right now is ESPN sports betting analyst erin Dolan, Aaron, let's get right to it, Trayvon walker. His rise of the draft boards has been crazy. He was now he's the odds on favorite. Do you think he is the sure thing to go first overall or is there still some value in Aidan Hutchinson on the board at plus 300? No, I definitely think he's for sure going to go number one overall. I mean we're just three hours almost to the start of the draft. And I think at this point, what you see is over the last couple of months there's been many people who have been projected to go number one overall. But when you see the lines this far out on a player at this particular time, he's definitely gonna go first I assume because there's way too many reports and everything that's out there, there's way too much information for him to not go first. Of course there's better value in taking Hutchinson. I just don't think he would go number one in this situation. Well, Derek Stingley, jr the favorite to be drafted third overall at plus 200 though, Sauce Gardner is the favorite to be the first quarterback selected at -145. So what do these conflicting odds tell you and how can bettors really capitalize on that. So of course there's going to be conflicting odds all over the board, It's very confusing for people who are just not accustomed to betting and even for somebody like me who looks at odds all day every day, it just doesn't make a ton of sense. Um, but what the books are really doing is trying to cover themselves because people have been beating the books on the NFL giraffes since the early two thousand's when it was on, you know, illegal books and things like that. And it's still really hard to have these books post lines because anything can happen, you know, teams will move up in position and there's reports of this reports of that and there's just so much hearsay at the same time. So it's really tough to bet on the NFL draft, but it also really depends on your location as well. So like for example, anybody who is in Nevada right now, they can't bet on the draft anymore. It's been turned off, You no longer can place any bets. Whereas if you're in New Jersey, which I'm pretty close to, you can live bet the entire first round. So again, depending on your location is how you can kind of take advantage of what's going on alright, Aaron first quarterback off the board tonight, I'll give you three choices, Malik, Willis, can you pick it or the field who you rolling with? I'm going with Kenny pickett and this one. I do think the panthers would take him at six. A lot of people saying that's not going to happen and when you look at his draft position at 12.5 that seems very confusing. We talked about these conflicting markets, Malik Willis, great player. I just think considering he did play at Liberty and didn't play tough competition, maybe some of his numbers are inflated. So for me I do think there's value in taking Kenny, Kenny Pickett to go first. Alright, first quarterback. I'm sorry first receiver off the board tonight, Garrett, Wilson, Jameson, Williams or the field, I'm gonna go Wilson in this one. It's tough because Jamison is so good with that A. C. L. Injury I think is going to hinder him to actually start of course week one. So if a team is looking for somebody to make an immediate impact, I really do think Wilson would be the first one off the board. All right, last one then we'll get you out of here. Let's just ask the way too early question who's going to step in right away and have an impact and win rookie of the year? Who's doing it? I knew this question was coming and it's honestly too hard to answer because we need to know where they go first. I think any of these players of course can make an impact on whatever team they go to, that's why they're going probably first overall in the first top 10 Things like that. But honestly it just depends on where they land because there might be a situation where they're playing backup even though a team really likes this player. So for me, you got to wait on this one. I know the quarterbacks are up there in terms of the odds for this. But for me personally, you have to wait until after tonight.
