Part of interstate 10 in Los Angeles remains closed this morning after a massive fire downtown. Over the weekend, the closure affects both directions of the freeway between the East L A connector and Alameda street commuters were encouraged to work from home today or take public transport into downtown Los Angeles. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Flames were first reported around 1220 am. Saturday night. The fire had raged through two storage lots in an industrial area under the highway. California Governor Gavin Newsom did not provide a timeline of when the highway would reopen but an alert sent to residents this morning said the freeway will be closed indefinitely.
