Rising ocean temperatures have caused multiple coral reefs off the Florida coast to become bleached or die in just the last couple of weeks. According to experts, the lack of rain and record July heat wave has led to an increase in ocean temperatures which is deadly to the reefs. The water in the area has reached temperatures of about 96 to 101 degrees. The temperatures are usually in the mid eighties. This is causing the coral to bleach or turn white as it slowly starves to death. That is pretty terrifying actually.
