Former Olympian Mary Lou Retton is in Intensive Care

Former Olympic gymnastics champion. Mary Lou Retton has been hospitalized with pneumonia. The Olympian has been in an intensive care unit at a Texas hospital for over a week and we are told she is fighting for her life. Retton's daughter mckenna Kelly shared the news on Instagram. She revealed that Retton is not able to breathe on her own. Kelly started a fundraising campaign to help cover her mother's medical expenses. Retton won a gold medal during the 1984 Olympic Summer Games in Los Angeles along with two silver and two bronze medals. She helped bring gymnastics into the mainstream in the United States during the 19 eighties.
