George Esquivel on Making Custom Shoes for Hollywood A-Listers
Footwear designer George Esquivel handcrafts off-the-court shoes for the NBA's most stylish players, as well as some of the biggest A-listers in Hollywood. Alyssa Julya Smith visits the shoe warehouse in Buena Park, California to find out more about these handcrafted shoes.
Esquivel explains that he finds much of his inspiration in Southern California, and finds the sun and warmth a great muse for his collections. Every single pair of shoes is made with care at his warehouse, where it takes over 100 steps to complete the process.
Esquivel also explains the importance of each pair of shoes telling a story, as they are all touched by cobblers who have put their individual touch into the shoes. Fans include Brad Pitt, Ryan Seacrest, Emma Stone, Bruno Mars and more. He has also made shoes for Kevin Durant, Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Tyson Chandler, among other NBA stars.
