it's time now for a little morning tea and since today is thursday, thursday Alicia, we're gonna spike R. T with a little bit of scotch this morning? I kinda love this. So next week is Nationals scotch day. So we've invited the Bell Vinny, the Bell vinnie brand ambassador Naomi Leslie to stop by and teach us everything we know impress our friends stuff kind of source. We've got scott, we've got some Good morning. Thank you so much for getting up early with us this morning. By the way, this is probably the earliest you've ever had scotch, I'm sure it might be a record. Okay, so for those that don't know the balcony scotch, tell us a little bit about it. Absolutely. So this is a brand I fell in love with when I was still bartending back in the city and it's really just a beautiful handcrafted single malt from Speyside in Scotland. Okay, okay, so we know that you're excited about This one. This is 25 years. This is the rich auntie giving us five. Why do you love this one? So this is the new balcony 25 year and it's part of our rare marriages range, which showcases some of our most old and rare barrels essentially. Okay, so this has been in for 25 years in one of these 25 barrels, I think in particular. Right, is that where it is? Yes. So it's a marriage of european and american oak. So you get vanilla honey baking spice. How much does this cost? That will differ depending on the market, it's probably gonna be, you know, a couple 100. Okay, I've got a, I've got a cold, not Covid and I think a lot of people when we do like wine tastings and pairings and stuff like that, what do you sort of pair best with a scotch? So I personally love a medium to full bodied cigar, especially with this range here. This is, I'm not a Scotch drinker, but this is good because you can sort of taste like it tastes really sort of fancy and like I said, I haven't had a cold, so knock, knock it out. Yeah, that coal is getting knocked out after something like, Okay, so this 25 comes as a rare marriage collection. Right, what's the collection about? So it's essentially showcasing. Yes, absolutely. It's showcasing some of our most precious casks that we have on site. And so the balcony has been in production since 1892. So it has really beautiful old barrels and this is showcasing some of the best. Okay, so like wine. I think most people assume it tastes better with age is that sort of the case with Scotch, the longer it sort of age 25 years, it's more of like a fancier. Higher end caliber. Yeah, with age, it essentially gets more full body, a little bit more rich, creamy, oily things like that. So it tends to be a bit heftier with age. Okay, so we talked about the pricing, but also there's something for everybody. Price rises. Right? Absolute. So this is another one of ours. This is the heart and soul of our line. The balcony, double wood, 12 year. It's based on the balcony. Classic. So it's truly the heart and soul. And this one is also a combination of american and european oak cast. So you get this beautiful coming together of vanilla caramel honey along with european. Oh, kind of fruity, nutty sherry cask. And you mentioned by the way it's double wood, what does that mean? So it's the two different types of barrels. So it gets a full 12 years in the american oak casks, ex bourbon and then it gets finished for an extra couple of months in european oak sherry casks.
