Welcome back to Between Bells, our next guest is known for turning his dreams into a reality Alex morton has been inspiring people around the world since publishing his 2016 book dorm room to millionaire, how to dream big, believe big and achieve big and now he's traveling the globe giving massive speeches on how others can stop saying no to the life they deserve. Joining us now is Alex morton, author, entrepreneur and motivational speaker, thank you so much for joining us. You went from living in a dorm room to earning a million dollars at just 24 years old. Walk us through your journey in college and how you were able to get to this point of success in your life and by the way as we're looking at the footage of your speeches and your motivational events, it literally looks like concerts like packed. Yeah, well I'm definitely excited to be here, thank you guys for having me, You know, I tell everybody I'm a normal guy, I'm 32 years old you know right now, but you know 16, 18 years old, I always had big goals and big dreams and I think a lot of people right now, all over the world, whether you're over here in Spain where I am or you're somewhere you know in the United States of America people are excited about creating the life they want and I always, always had that, you know deep, deep within me and my grades were always okay in school but I went to Arizona State University, I grew up in a small town in Ohio went to Arizona State University and I didn't know anybody and I said I'm gonna figure something out, I'm gonna figure out this whole business world and just through, through networking, through shaking the right hands through getting the right opportunities through manifestation. I found myself in an opportunity where I was able to build a business, you know, sales, marketing leadership and travel the whole world and I was able to earn my first million Before my 25th birthday and now obviously 10 years later, you know, life is amazing and I just do everything I can to teach people the philosophies and the strategies how to really win big, not just financially, but really just live a fulfilling life here on earth. That's so interesting because I think it's like out of left field for a lot of people out there, especially those who have picked up this movement around manifestation and new age principles. Would you consider yourself particularly like business savvy or um, you know, intelligent, obviously you're smart, but I mean more than book smart because I don't know that this is accessible for everyone or would you beg to differ? I would beg to differ. I've worked with people in small villages in Costa Rica Colombia Ecuador. I've been to Lagos Nigeria recently, my wife and I were in Nairobi Kenya teaching, teaching these principles and philosophies on how to create success in their lives. So I've seen these principles, the law of attraction, the secret. I've seen them all work. And one of the things that I try to teach people today in 2022 is that there's I. Q. And then there's E. Q. And I. Q. Is important I believe in school and my mother went to Pepperdine University in Malibu California with a Master's degree. I graduated college but you got to go deeper than that. I can't just be, here's my degree, I should be a millionaire now, you shouldn't. There's different things that we have to master today as human beings and a lot of that Is the emotional side. I tell people that 95% of success is actually spiritual, you know 5% is doing the work, but 95% are the thoughts, the feelings, the emotions building, that burning desire right? Really going out there and going after your dreams. So you know, people call me a motivational speaker and a lot of my events are like rock concerts because I believe you got to really change people's emotional frequency. But I really consider myself an educator because what I do is I teach people really how to achieve what they want out of life. I love that so much because it's obviously so many different factors when it comes to what you consider to be success. It's not just the financial side or reaching certain milestones like hitting $1 million 25, it's also about pursuing what you're passionate about what you believe you're here to do. And I'm wondering why do you think it is that it's such a prevailing sentiment, not only in real life in our everyday lives, but also when you look to, like media tropes about people who don't feel comfortable pursuing the things that they want to do, why do you think there is that consistent message out there? And how do you think people can kind of overcome that hurdle? Well, I think it all goes back to the idea that we as humans, we, a lot of us tend to care about other people's opinions, you know, and when you step out, you know, not just the rat race, but when you step out of the Society way of thinking, right, go to school, get your grades, get a job, work until you're 70 retired, go to Europe once with your wife or husband, come back and then everyone's gonna show up to your funeral when you pass away, you know, that's kind of this old paradigm way of thinking. So, one of the things that I help people do is build confidence right, build build confidence, and you only can build confidence by having small victory after small victory after small victory, which will lead you to a larger victory. So number one building confidence and really number two understanding that at the end of the day, we come into this Earth alone and we will one day leave alone, so while we're here for 60 70 god willing 90 to 100 years we should do what we want to do right, we should do what makes us happy. You said it best, it's success is not just money, there are multi multimillionaires that unfortunately commit suicide every year around the world, right? It's finding this balance of purpose fulfillment, having enough money to be to be free, but people have got to let go of the opinions of other people, these people are not paying your bills and just because somebody has the same last name as you does not mean they know what's best for you Alex, I had a million other questions but it was so good to have you on the show, Thanks for joining us, that's Alex morton, author, entrepreneur and motivational speaker.
