A new Pew study shows that men and women are making about the same amount of money in their careers, but women are picking up a heavier load when it comes to housework and caregiving. Meanwhile, men are spending more time on leisure and at work. The number of women who earn as much or significantly more than their husbands has tripled over the last 50 years.
100 MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE
Time has released its annual list of the 100 Most Influential People of 2023. The list was divided into different categories, including artists, innovators, and titans. The list included a range of individuals, from actor Michael B. Jordan to Disney CEO Bob Iger, as well as Ukraine's first lady Olena Zelensky.
TIKTOK BAN
Montana could become the first state to completely ban TikTok. The bill moving through the state legislature proposes a $10,000 fine for anyone who violates the ban, each day they do so. It's worth noting that Montana's governor has already banned TikTok on government devices.
UW-La Crosse Chancellor Joe Gow. Wisconsin-La Crosse fired Gow on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, after learning Gow and his wife have been producing and appearing in pornographic videos. Gow maintains the firing violated his free speech rights.
