Tech giant Google recently announced its largest gift to historically Black colleges and universities to date: an unrestricted $50 million in grants to 10 schools to help improve access to STEM fields for underrepresented groups. Melonie Parker, the chief diversity officer at Google, and Harry Williams, the president of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, joined Cheddar to discuss the impact the grants will make on STEM diversity and the sustainability of HBCUs.
