Helping Residents and Workers at Nursing Homes Protect Themselves Against Coronavirus

On Sunday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced new rules and restrictions to protect nursing homes from COVID-19 during his daily press briefing. Under Cuomo's order, nursing home staff must be tested for the virus twice a week, hospitals can no longer discharge a patient to a nursing home unless they've tested negative for COVID-19, and nursing homes that do not follow these procedures will lose their licenses. Lindsay Heckler, Supervising Attorney, Center for Elder Law & Justice, explains what else can be done to help this vulnerable age group.
