Lack of diversity in Hollywood continues to be an issue, and according to a new Bloomberg article, there was only about a 2% increase in women executive producers on new shows from last year. In fact, 42 of the 50 EPs working on Fox's new show lineup are white (that’s 84%) and 38 of them are men. Kate Spies, Vice President of Editorial & Audience Development at Bauer Xcel Media, explains just how many white males run shows in Hollywood. She explains the differences between traditional cable networks and streaming services when it comes to diversity, specifically how Netflix is trying to turn its white-male issue around by hiring Shonda Rhimes. Spies says "you can't be what you can't see."
