CBS’ hit series Big Brother recently named its first Black champion, Xavier Prather, in its 23-season history after “The Cookout”, an alliance of six Black cast members, made it to the finals. Now, fallout on social media is accusing the network of reverse racism in light of the alliance and win. J’Tia Hart and Brice Izyah, former Survivor contestants and co-creators of The Black Survivor Coalition, joined Cheddar to discuss how race, in particular, plays a role in reality television competition shows.
