Viacom posted better than expected earnings Tuesday morning, but it's not all good news. The media company saw a six percent drop in ad sales. This comes shortly after it announced the acquisition of streaming service Pluto TV for $340 million. Lenore Hawkins, chief macro strategist at Tematica Research, says the company has taken a 180 since last year, with Paramount Pictures' success and Viacom's licensing deal with Netflix being huge catalysts.
