Monday night's episode of Jeopardy spurred an online debate and some fans were not happy after all three contestants struggled to pronounce the last name of one Russian author. The contestants all guessed the correct author under the category "the quotable Alex" but failed to pronounce his tongue twisting last name — Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn — correctly. Afterwards, fans said the show and host Mayim Bialik should have given the guests some leeway. One person tweeted that it set an awkward precedent and that contestants should be able to "pronounce a response in a reasonable way.
SPOTIFY'S BILLIONS CLUB
Another song has just joined the billions club on Spotify. That's the songs that have had more than one billion streams on the platform.The Beatles' hit song "Here Comes the Sun" was added to the list this week, becoming the 406th track to join. Seven years ago, Drake became the first artist to be inducted into Spotify's Billions Club for his song "One Dance" from his 2016 album Views. Miley Cyrus' song "Flowers," which was released in January, became the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.
The author and philanthropist MacKenzie Scott revealed $7.1 billion in donations to nonprofits in 2025 Tuesday, marking a significant increase in her annual giving from recent years. Scott acknowledged donating $2.6 billion in 2024 and $2.1 billion in 2023. The gifts this year bring her total giving since 2019 to $26.3 billion. Scott acknowledged the donations in an essay on her website. Scott’s donations have captured the attention of nonprofits and other charitable funders because they come with no strings attached and are often very large compared to the annual budgets of the recipient organizations
