American Music Awards
The nominees for next month's American Music Awards have just been announced. Bad Bunny leads all artists with eight nods and if he sweeps, he'd tie Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson for most awards won in a single night. Beyoncé and Taylor Swift lead the pack in female artist nominations with six each, and Drake has six nods of his own; all three are among the nominees who could take home Artist of the Year. Jack Harlow and Tems both received four nods as first time AMA nominees, and Elton John makes history as the longest-recognized artist in AMA history with his two nominations.
Trevor Noah's Final Show
The Daily Show has announced that host Trevor Noah's last show will air on December 8 after more than seven years behind the desk. In September he revealed that he was planning to step down to pursue other projects. The show is expected to go on hiatus until January 17, 2023 but so far a successor for Noah has not been announced.
Rihanna is Back
It's been over six years since Rihanna's Navy heard new music or went to a tour featuring the Barbadian singer, but it looks like that is all changing. Just weeks after announcing she will be headlining the NFL's Super Bowl LVII halftime show, Rihanna revealed that she will also be going on a stadium tour starting next year. So far no details about a new album have dropped, but the world is very clearly inching closer toward the next era of Bad Gyal RiRi.
