But this sort of change is interesting to sort of the shifting of changing of the streaming strategy here because for so long, especially in the pandemic, it was all about what we put streaming on what can we deliver first for streaming and now it starts to seem like this is all going backwards, so disappointed I really am meanwhile, and Ellen Pompeo taking on a new role. The actor is set to start in hulu, a limited series called Something according to Variety. It's going to come at a cost for Grey's fans. The untitled show reportedly follows a couple who adopts what they believe is an eight year old girl with a rare form of dwarfism, however they slowly start to believe she may not be who she says she is. The new gig means Pompeo is going to have to scale back as dr MEREDITH Gray Variety, confirming that Pompeo will appear in just eight episodes of the upcoming Gray season, but she will still narrates every episode. She'll also continue to serve as executive producer. The new hulu show marks one of the few roles Pompeo has taken since Gray's debuted, she's ranked as one of the highest paid actresses in the world since 2017 due to her time on the show. I mean the show has been on for so long at one point, you'd have to think how much more can poor MEREDITH Greg go through. She's experienced so much trauma, so much over the course of the show and it's like with Kiefer Sutherland 24 you're like how many more Bad Days is this guy gonna continue to have but she actually gave a quote, she wanna take a guess how many episodes of Grey's Anatomy, she says she has been on 19 season hundreds. She says close to 390 episodes as how many she has been on. And you would have to think as an actor you don't want to also just get typecast on something like that. We're only doing shows related to that program. So I get why she would want to do something else and look eight episodes, she's still narrating, it still feels like she's still part of the franchise at the end of the day. And Shonda Rhimes has said that the show is not the same. She doesn't see this show carrying on without its leading lady. So Ellen Pompeo does step back. There might be a spinoff, which they've already tried to spin off once, remember they had private practice a long time ago. Yeah, but look, you can make a lot of spin offs on this, you can make sort of soapy medical dramas, but I don't know necessarily if you still have to have this sort of Grey's Anatomy like original people that's still on there by the way. Fun fact that hulu series based on a true story. So interested that there was this eight year old who claimed she had dwarfism. But now those adopted parents said she was just a psychopath adult. So this is based on a true story. Something to watch them. Absolutely. And jennifer Coolidge is returning a scattered singleton. Tanya this fall season two of the white lotus coming back this over, that's according to variety, it's a sophomore year and it will feature mostly new cast of vacationers staying at a luxurious resort in Italy. Aside from Coolidge, it will pretty much be an all new cast of hotel staff and guests. The lineup includes theo James, tom Hollander and Aubrey Plaza, wow! The White Lotus team has big shoes to fill after the first season, which we talked about here received a nomination for Outstanding Limited Series at the 2022 Emmy Awards along with acting nominations for multiple stars including alexander, Dario Connie britton, Sydney Sweeney, Jennifer Coolidge, Yes, of course, 20 nods total for that nominated series. Incredible. By the way, that was jennifer Coolidge's first ever Nomination She's ever had. Yes. Beyond overdue. Did you read that variety interview that she gave which was so unbelievably amazing. So that way the next season we to be eligible for Emmys for the next season, so very smart that they're doing all of this. All right. I don't know much of the specifics about who she's playing in this role as, I mean, who knows, She could be like some other person that's part of like the joker franchise, but like this movie was so and you don't even have to be a batman fan to have known how good that movie was. So now you're adding such the talents of somebody like lady gaga who is gracing us with her presence in this film. This is gonna be incredible. It can't come soon enough.
