'Blonde' Gets Standing O

If the number of standing ovations at this year's Venice Film Festival is any indication of what to expect from some upcoming films, then we're in for a treat. The Ana de Armas-led Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde has received the longest standing ovation of the festival so far with a staggering 14-minute celebration. De Armas was reportedly moved to tears during the ovation and there was even a surprise appearance by Brad Pitt, who is one of the film's producers. Blonde is slated to hit Netflix this month.

The End of the Handmaid's Era

It's been a wild several years for the dystopian series The Handmaid's Tale, but there is an end in sight after being renewed for a final sixth season ahead of the season five premiere. Showrunner and creator Bruce Miller said, "We are grateful to Hulu and MGM for allowing us to tell this story, which unfortunately has remained as relevant as ever throughout its run, and are in awe of our incredible fans for their unwavering support, and without whom we neve would have gotten to this point." There is good news for fans who don't want it to end though as Miller is said to be developing a spinoff series titled The Testaments. Season five of The Handmaid's Tale will drop on September 14.
