Spider-Man Cast Addition
Sony Pictures Animation and the Marvel have tapped Academy Award winner Daniel Kaluuya to join the cast of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the sequel to the Oscar-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Kaluuya, who already played a character in Marvel's Black Panther, is set to voice Hobart Brown, aka Spider-Punk, who will meet Miles Morales after he is thrust into the multiverse. He joins an already star-studded cast including, Shameik Moore, Issa Rae, Jorma Taccone, and Jason Schwartzman. The movie is set to be released in June 2023.
'John Wick' Spinoff
Keanu Reeves is set to return to the big screen as the iconic assassin in John Wick: Chapter 4 next year, but fans of the franchise might get a chance to spot the character elsewhere first. Variety reported that Reeves is in talks to appear in Ballerina, a spinoff of the John Wick universe, starring Ana de Armas. Lionsgate also reportedly confirmed that Ian McShane, who plays the famed manager of the Continental Hotel in the franchise, is set to reprise his role.
It's Bad Bunny Time
Bad Bunny is having a year, to say the least. After dropping one of the most successful albums in Billboard's Top 200 history with Un Verano Sin Ti and one of the highest grossing tours in Ultimo Tour Del Mundo, he's adding Apple Music's Artist of the Year award to the list. He also took home top honors at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, beating out artists like Lizzo, Drake, Ed Sheeran, and Lil Nas X.
Johnny Walks
Johnny Depp walked in his first runway show since the closely-watched defamation case regarding domestic abuse allegations by his ex-girlfriend Amber Heard was largely found in his favor. He modeled in Rihanna's Savage X Fenty Vol.4 show, which streamed on Amazon Prime Video. His appearance received mixed reviews on social media, with some users upset with Rihanna for giving him a platform, while others celebrated his return to the spotlight. Despite the fashion show, Depp has not announced any new upcoming gigs in Hollywood.
