Meanwhile, the best original song category at least at next year's Oscars could be star studying, Rihanna Lady gaga. Taylor swift all in contention. But one big name is now not joining that list. That's Doja Cat, Her hit song Vegas which the artist wrote for the film Elvis. Well, it has been deemed ineligible for the Oscars. Now you might be asking why that's because the track borrows lyrics from the classic Elvis song Hound Dog and according to Oscar's guidelines, in order for a song to qualify the words and music must be original and written specifically for the motion picture. What a bummer absolute because that would have been the most insane category. Especially given the fact that original song at the Oscars gets performances from these people which we know the Oscars needs help in the ratings. So if you had lady gaga Rihanna and Taylor swift all performing on Oscars night like that is better than the Grammys right there by the way, that song was all over the radio over the summer and into the hot 100 chart right many, many times. And the only line is you ain't nothing but because of that line to be honest to be honest, if they're going to make a most popular film category someday in the Oscars, they need to tweak this way. This was supposed to come out april of this year. Then it was delayed to october Now it's delayed to january and it's been split into two films must be worth the wait. Meanwhile Christopher Nolan's upcoming film, Oppenheimer. It is sure to be very explosive in more ways than one. That's because the filmmaker is opting to re create the first ever nuclear blast and he's doing it without C. G. I. Technology. Nolan who has always favored practical effects revealing in an interview with total film that the X explosion was no surprise and not easy to pull off. You think Nolan telling the website, quote, it's one of the most challenging products projects I've ever taken on in terms of the scale of it. That is bonkers that he's like, he's just like, hey, by the way, I just want to create an actual physical nuclear blast and recorded for this film and he says, this is difficult. This is the same director that crashed Boeing 7 47 for 10. It slipped over a semi truck for Dark Knight batman. And he's saying this is one of the hardest. I love that. He does this though. And Indiewire has released the results from its annual film critics survey and Tars starring Cate Blanchett took the number one spot. 100 and 65 critics and journalists from around the world voted on the best films and performances with Tar at the top of the list for best film followed by after Sun and the Banshees of Sharon. Critics also named Cate Blanchett's performance as the best of the year. I haven't seen this movie. I need to it's getting critical acclaim and this is by the way for critics poll. We're talking new york times, the outlet, Hollywood reporter, variety all basically saying this, you mentioned the performance, directing, screenwriting the film. So that gives and based off the nominations that I got at the Golden Globes. This no doubt is going to be in every major Oscars category come next year when we're looking at the Oscars alright. And there wasn't a lot of big news from the official Game of Thrones convention over the weekend. Yes, that's really a thing. But Kit Harington did talk about the future of Jon Snow. It's been reported that the actors behind the Thrones spinoff centered around his beloved character and he teased it at the convention. Harrington said this quote, he's got to go back up to the place with all this history and live out his life thinking about how he killed Danny and live out his life thinking about regret dying in his arms and thinking about all of this trauma. HBO execs are surely hoping the next throne spinoff will be as popular as House of the Dragon. There's no way so, HBO hasn't confirmed that there's no way I don't think that they're gonna deny it with all the success. You disagree. I 100% agree with you. How do they? I think it's the bigger question here given the fact that you said this is a spinoff spinoff means a continuation of that last story. It's not like a prequel like House of the Dragon is which is 200 years before Game of Thrones. Obviously, there's a lot of loose ends with Jon Snow's character that you can sort of go with this. But I do find it interesting that he has said it's happening. George R r martin says it's happening, but yet the most critical person at the end of the day, which is HBO has not said a word about this. And you would think it in this particular time right now, where they need more hits, more and more people to go to HBO max, they would be confirming something like this, but it also looks bad on them if they say it's not happening and he says it is because that also looks bad on them. Also. Meanwhile, we all love Lizzo and Missy Elliott, it's about damn time that singer came to broadway. I agree. Elliot, writing a capsule for Lizzo feature in Entertainment Weekly's 2022 entertainers of the year edition, Missy Elliott raven about Liz owes talent and showered her latest album special with praise. She said, quote, I love that whole album. That whole thing just makes me feel happy. It makes it feel like a little bit like disco, a little bit of Grease, a little bit of hip hop. Actually, I can see her doing a musical off of it please. So make Lizzo do. And by the way, so many other artists are doing Broadway shows. Turner's got a musical, Michael Jackson's got a musical. Why can't Lizzo have a musical? I think that is so great. And by the way, she's not the only person showering with praise. Just this last week you had Stevie Nicks basically saying she should run for politics because she's like so below and Missy Elliott going back to her is such a creative genius. Can you imagine her behind a project like this? I know, I know, I just want them to do a duo together. That would be amazing video to that would be so cool. And Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced a bit of backlash following the release of their netflix docuseries, but one singer is defending the couple specifically Megan. Here's what Maren Morris had to say on Tiktok. This profound hatred and annoyance at Meghan Markle specifically, mostly coming from women. I have to say it's unfathomable to me because people are saying like, oh, a woman should never take a man away from his family. That's all that this is have you seen this? All right? I agree with look, I'm not in that Meghan Markle hater camp. I know there are a lot of people out there, especially with this documentary that are like that with her and that's why they're going after a lot of the british press right now, but I feel like it's so dumb that there's so many people go after Megan marco all the time. And I think Megan, I think Maren Morris, who, by the way, also protects the LGBT against a lot of other people who say very anti trans things within the trans the country community. I think this is great that she's sticking up, love that she's speaking up, especially when it comes from the country roll. This is incredible.
