Lizzo, Queen of the Charts
Lizzo and her fans are riding high this week after the singing flutist secured her second number one song on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The song, About Damn Time, was released in April as the lead single for the album with the same title. It took 14 weeks to peak but could not have come at a better time as Lizzo also has the number two album in the country after releasing it earlier this month. She unseated Harry Styles' As it Was, which has spent 16 cumulative weeks on the chart. The last Lizzo track to reach the top of the charts was the 2019 hit Truth Hurts.
VMA Nominations Revealed
MTV has released the nominations for the 2022 Video Music Awards. Kendrick Lamar, Jack Harlow, and Lil Nas X lead the pack in nominations with seven each. Doja Cat and Harry Styles each received six nominations. This will be the fifth year since MTV has opted to have men and women compete in the same categories. The big show goes down at The Prudential Center in Newark on August 28.
Nicki Goes Up on Insta
The self-proclaimed Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj has reached a major milestone on social media. She became the first rapper to cross the 200 million follower mark on Instagram. In second place is Bronx native Cardi B. with 138 million followers. At 200 million, Minaj becomes the 18th most followed account on the platform and the seventh most followed musician behind Ariana Grande, Beyonce, and Jennifer Lopez.

Actor Ryan Reynolds, who is also the chief creative officer for Mountain, an advertising company, is giving Jackass star Steve-O a unique opportunity to promote his hot sauce brand, Steve-Os Hot Sauce for Your Butthole. Yes, that is actually the name of the brand! In the spot, Reynold convinces Steve to eat a Carolina Reaper pepper all while he promotes his own brand.
