NETFLIX INVESTS IN K-CONTENT

South Korean movies and TV shows — such as Squid Games, Parasite, and Carter to name a few — are becoming more popular to global audiences, and now Netflix is banking on viewers coming back for more. The streaming service is adding 34 new and returning South Korean titles in 2022, with the goal of becoming a "must-watch" destination for "K-content." Neftlix said 60 percent of all members watched a Korean title last year. “There’s truly a series, a film or an unscripted show for everyone, and we look forward to our Korean shows connecting to fans both overseas and at home," said Don Kang, vice president of content in Korea for Netflix, in a blog post.

TAYLOR SWIFT AUCTIONS GUITAR

The MusiCares Charity Relief Auction scheduled for Feb. 5 after the Grammys is set to be a star-studded affair. Taylor Swift's Epiphone acoustic guitar, which appeared in the album artwork for 2020's "evermore," is expected to draw between $5,000 and $10,000. A pair of Nike Air Max with the words "Shady" written on them by Eminem will sell for up to $3,000, and Snoop Dogg and his son will donate a sound system signed by both for up to $8,000. All proceeds from the auction will support musicians who are experiencing financial or medical hardships.
