Remembering a singer who changed the conversation and more in entertainment.

RIP Sinéad

Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor has died at the age of 56.

Her family confirmed the news in a statement, but did not share what led to her death. Fans of the singer were anticipating a new album from her after she took to Facebook earlier this month to inform them that she was in the process of creating new music. The album was to be the set-up for a world tour that was expected to kick off in Australia and New Zealand, and would have made its way to Europe and the U.S. by 2025.

Egypt Says No

It's official: Travis Scott's scheduled show at the Pyramids of Giza has been canceled.

Last week, it was reported that Egypt's Musicians Syndicate sought to ax the show because of online allegations that Scott was involvement with "anti-Egyptian Afrocentrism agendas" and "satanic rituals." At the time Live Nation, the company behind the promotion of the show, quickly countered reports that the show had been canceled and assured fans that the Utopia show would go on as scheduled.

However, Live Nation Middle East confirmed Wednesday that the show has now, in fact, been canceled. They attributed the cancellation to logistics issues.

"Unfortunately, despite highest efforts, complex production issues meant that the show could not be constructed in the desert. We understand that this news is disappointing and not the outcome any of us desired," the company said in a tweet.

Scott's Utopia album is set to be released on July 28.

T-Swift's Billionth Stream

Taylor Swift has another accolade to add to her illustrious collection.

Her 2022 hit Anti-Hero just hit 1 billion streams on Spotify. It marks Swift's fourth song to earn such an achievement. It was also her longest running number one hit on the Billboard 100 after spending eight weeks in the top spot.

Swift has been having a great year, to say the least. She's currently in the middle of her very successful Eras tour, her re-recorded version of Speak Now (Taylor's Version) hit number one on the Billboard 200 to become her 12th chart-topping album and we can expect more to come as she works to reclaim her original works after her master recordings were sold to her nemesis Scooter Braun.
