New Faces at SNL

Saturday Night Live is working to revamp the cast after a few major players opted not to return for Season 48 of the sketch comedy show. Four new members have been added: Devon Walker, Molly Kearney, Marcello Hernandez, and Michael Longfellow. SNL veterans Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseñor, and Aristotle Athari all recently left the show. The new season is slated to premiere on October 1.

Giannis to Star in WhatsApp Short Film

Milwaukee Bucks star forward, former MVP, and NBA champion Giannis Antetokounmpo will star in a short film produced by Meta's WhatsApp. Naija Odyssey is the first piece of original content produced by the messaging app, which has surged in popularity across the globe in recent years as it looks to change the narrative from being used to spread misinformation to bringing people from all corners of the world together. The film, a telling of his life's story narrated by Antetokounmpo and his mother, Veronica, is set to release on social media, YouTube, and Amazon Prime on September 21.
Hollywood Sign Upgrade
After sitting atop Mount Lee for nearly a century, the famed Hollywood sign is due for a touch up. In anticipation of its centennial anniversary, the sign will undergo an eight-week refurbishing project. A crew of 10 workers will pressure wash, prime, and repaint the sign beginning September 19. It's the first time since 2012 that any work will be done on the iconic Tinseltown sign.
