Hosting Music's Biggest Night
While Trevor Noah is no longer hosting Comedy Central's The Daily Show, we'll get to see him back on our tv screens sooner than later. The Recording Academy tapped the host to MC the 65th Grammy Awards. The show will go down at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. It's the third year in a row that he's been selected to host the show, but he will also be taking up producer duties this year as well.
'Lord of the Rings' as Seen by Women
The second season of Amazon Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is being headed up by an all-female directing crew. The follow-up season is currently in production in the UK with director Charlotte Brändstrȍm taking the rein, who's returning to the project after directing two episodes in the inaugural season. She's slated for four episodes this go-around and will co-executive produce the entire season. Sanaa Hamri and Louise Hooper are also set to direct two episodes a piece.
Eddie Murphy at the Globes
Comedian and actor Eddie Murphy is set to be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at next month's Golden Globe Awards. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association's board of directors made the decision to award the six-time Golden Globe nominee and one-time winner. "We're thrilled to be celebrating the lasting impact on film and television that his career — in front of and behind the camera — has had through the decades," Helen Hoehne, HFPA president, told the Hollywood Reporter.
