The King Richard actor opened up on The Daily Show With Trevor Noah about the moment he lost his temper in front of the world at last year's Academy Awards and slapped Chris Rock on the stage. While promoting his new film, Emancipation, Smith gave some background on what motivated the outburst, stating, “I was going through something that night. Not that that justifies my behavior at all.” The actor noted that his rage was a long-time building, and shared what he learned that night, "We just gotta be nice to each other, man. It's hard." His actions have led to questions about his behavior all year.
AMC Head Steps Down Before Layoffs
Christina Spade's tenure as CEO of AMC Network lasted three months — and 20 percent of its workforce is expected to follow. The surprising development was somewhat explained by Chairman James Dolan who revealed that a "large-scale layoff" would be coming soon. Dolan cited the attrition of cable subscribers, or cord-cutting, as the culprit behind the moves, due to streaming gains failing to offset losses.
