It's been a wild week in Washington from gun control conversation shaking up, to personnel changes, and now trade wars. Political Consultant Rick Wilson explains his take on the repercussions of the chaos inside the White House.
"I think that the president's views on guns have always been subject to question," said Wilson. "He mediates every decision by television."
After White House Communications Director Hope Hicks announced her resignation this week, we asked Wilson who might be next to depart.
"I don't think there's a tenable path for Jared Kushner to stay in the White House," said Wilson. "I think he is in really really deep water."
President Joe Biden has met with new House Speaker Mike Johnson at the White House. Johnson was joined by Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries as they discussed Biden's request for nearly $106 billion for Israel, Ukraine and other national security needs.
The new leader of one of the chambers of Congress that will certify the winner of next year's presidential election helped spearhead the attempt to overturn the last one, raising alarms that Republicans could try to subvert the will of the voters if they remain in power despite safeguards enacted after the 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
