Japanese Regulators Investigating Google

Another regulatory agency taking a look at Google tell us more. Yes. So regulators in Japan are investigating Google over its search practices. The Japan Fair Trade Commission announced today, it was looking into whether Google made agreements with Android smartphone makers to prioritize its own apps and services. The commission is also looking into whether Google services are prioritized on Android phones. In a statement, Google said quote, its openness and flexibility ensure that users always have a choice to customize their devices to suit their needs including the way that they browse and search the internet or download apps. End quote comes as Google is facing scrutiny in the US and Europe, the European Union fine, Google $2.6 billion for anti competitive practices and shopping unit. And here at home, the Department of Justice case against Google is ongoing.
