Jet.com, one of the fastest growing e-commerce companies in the U.S., is out with a new brand called Uniquely J. Tim Stenovec was with Liza Landsman, President of Jet.com, at Cornell's Entrepreneurship event. Landsman says the brand, now owned by Wal-Mart, should provide your favorite version of everything ranging from coffee to sriracha. When it comes to private label, Jet.com doesn't want to compromise. Landsman says Uniquely J is designed to deliver great quality and beautiful design, all at a fair price point. The brand is looking to appeal to the urban, affluent millennial. To do so, Uniquely J focuses on things like free-trade coffee and certified organic goods. Jet.com was acquired by Wal-Mart for $3.3 billion last year. Landsman explains where Uniquely J fits into the retail giant's own private labels. She also describes how the culture at Jet.com has changed post-acquisition. With M&A a clear part of Wal-Mart's strategy, Landsman shares how all the deals blend together to create a business ready to compete with Amazon.
