Job openings across America rose to 10.9 million -- the highest level in history -- in July. According to Bradley, “it’s absolutely holding back the economic recovery.” He noted that companies could offer hiring incentives and expand the pool of applicants they are willing to bring onboard as a way to remedy the shortage.
