Journalist's Pre-Trial Detention Extended in Russia

Us. Journalist Evan Gooch's pretrial detention was extended to November 30 in Moscow earlier today, his detention was supposed to end on August 30. Gko was arrested on espionage charges in March while on a reporting trip in Russia. Russian Federal Security Service accused him of collecting information about state secrets and Russia's military industrial complex and his employer of the Wall Street Journal. They are denying these allegations. Russian officials meanwhile, have not released any evidence to support the espionage charges.
