The undocumented children of immigrants often referred to as Dreamers, are at risk of deportation action again after a federal judge ruled that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program is unconstitutional. The ruling made it so no future applications can be accepted. While current recipients are not yet impacted, Bruna Sollod, the communications director at UnitedWeDream and a DACA recipient, told Cheddar she hopes the ruling pushes Congress to enact real change for undocumented immigrants. She also noted that the program was always only a temporary fix but that many undocumented people are "charged up" and ready to fight for a permanent citizenship solution.
