The strong July jobs report offered more evidence of a consistent, if slow, rebound for the U.S. economy. William M. Rodgers III, vice president at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and director of its Institute for Economic Equity, joined Cheddar’s Closing Bell to talk about the better than expected numbers. He noted that if states mitigate the spread of delta variant it is likely that the jobs growth trend upward will reflect on the August report and touched on the issue of the still uneven jobs recovery for Black and Latino communities.
