That's despite body camera footage showing the trooper hitting the man 18 times, Aaron Bowman was left with broken ribs, a head injury and broken jaw after the incident, his attorneys argued the trooper Jacob Brown violated his civil rights. Now, if convicted, Brown would have faced up to a decade in prison, Brown also faced simple battery charges and a separate arrest where he and two other troopers slapped and punched a man they were arresting after he surrendered.
