Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has recused himself from a case involving the January 6th attacks on the Capitol. This as the Supreme Court kicked off their new term today. The case centers around Donald Trump's former legal adviser, John Eastman, who also once served as a clerk for Thomas. The high court struck down an appeal. Eastman filed after a lower court ruling that allowed a House Select Committee to access emails that he exchanged with Trump. The Supreme Court will not hear the case and Thomas did not give a reason for recusing himself from this case. He had previously been criticized for not recusing himself from other cases related to the January attacks.
