Kansas Abortion Vote Previews Midterm Election Dynamics

Good morning Alicia Midterms right around the corner in just about three months and the Kansas abortion vote could indicate that this is a very favorable landscape for abortion rights. The most shocking thing about the Kansas abortion amendment vote is how lopsided it was nearly 60% voted against the anti abortion amendment. And given there are more registered republicans and independents in Kansas than democrats, the result indicates that there's a pretty broad and diverse coalition of voters who are supporting abortion rights in the Sunflower state. The Kansas result is pretty much in line with what we see nationwide, suggesting that there is majority support for abortion rates. A survey from the Pew Research Center found 62% of americans think abortion should be legal in all or most cases, and just 36% think it should be illegal as we approach the midterm elections, democrats will be looking for answers to two questions Will abortion drive democrats to turn out in greater numbers and two is abortion a big enough issue for ma and conservative voters that they will vote for democrats solely on that issue, but remember voters are complicated as all humans are. What details do we know about the accident, truly heartbreaking story this morning, Representative Jackie Will or ski of indiana and three others were killed in a car crash Wednesday afternoon. A driver traveling in the opposite direction of Will or ski drifted left over the center line and crashed head on into the suv carrying her and two members of her staff Will or she was first elected back in 2012 and most recently served on both the House ethics committee and the very powerful ways and means committee.
