Kate Walsh Talks New Partnership & Upcoming 'Emily In Paris' Season

so kate, so good to have you here with us here on cheddar. So you play Madeline in the popular netflix series, Emily in paris and season three is about to hit the streamer now we know your character has arrived in paris forcing Emily to face a very tough decision. So how, why we see this relationship between you to evolve in this next season? Oh my gosh! Um it's gonna be, you'll see a lot of Emily and Madeline and it's gonna be very funny and insane and um I'm very excited. That's really, I can't really get into specifics. Um there'll be some, some tension, but you see a lot of Madeleine in the first three episodes and I'm just very excited because season three is like, I think unequivocally the best and bigger, better, funnier. And I'm really excited for the world to see it in december now, you've actually said in some interviews, you actually relate to Madeline in some ways. How, so how do you relate to her? Oh, I relate to just being sort of the just absurd outsider um and you know, as sort of a stranger in a strange land um but because I'm living in Australia and have been for the last couple of years, so um but I also love, I guess I just love Madeleine character, I just love that she is unabashedly herself and kind of, you know, doesn't really care what people think and um goes for it and takes risks and um yeah, yeah, well we know kate you were in paris filming over the summer, I mean, was there a huge culture shock that you discovered while filming the show while you were there? Um, I mean, for me, I just enjoy, I always enjoy just, I mean, the idea, the fact that I get to work in paris is just ridiculous to me. I'm like, what? It feels like I'm in a good dream. Um, it's a different culture, but I think more, I'm only there for like a month at a time or something. So I don't know, I just more enjoy it. Um, it was really hectic this time. Super busy. The show is very popular, so, and there's a lot of people traveling, obviously post covid more than ever before. It feels like, so it's a real, like, very, very busy. But I just love paris. It was, it was a delight to shoot there and we got to show we have fabulous locations this season, even more fabulous costumes and the storylines are really, really fun. So I'm excited. I mean, plus you don't have to feel ever guilty about eating bread, cheese or wine like ever, which is honestly the best part about being a Parisian logical there, there's no calories. Everybody is so skinny on that diet. I never understand. So we have to ask, are you Team Alfie or Team Gabriel. That's, that's Sophie's choice. I just can't even pick, there's no way, there's no way. Okay, so we got to ask because I'm sure our viewers are looking at you like is she sitting an entire mound of kitty litter right now, you'd probably be right because you're teaming up with Purina tidy cats. So what are your top survival tips for making this a feline friendly holiday? How did you know baker? Yes. I'm in an entire not it's a pile of kitty litter. No, but there is mentally tidy cat, lightweight litter right next to me. I was actually super excited. Finally my cat lady moment to shine shine. Um Pablo the cat was here. He's on a break, he's eating um He's like sorry uh an elder. Very very tricky. You know, I was excited to partner just to talk to basics about how to keep your house pet friendly, cat friendly and people friendly over the holidays. Basic things like you're gonna want to, if you move your kitty litter box when you have house guests, which most people do mines in a guest bathroom so I'll move it out of the way. I just wanna make sure you move it to a quiet calm location. And also that the cat knows where it is so I can get to it. Um I love this tidy cats, lightweight litter. It's 99.9% dust free which is great for when the cats are doing their business. And also for us when we're cleaning it up, it's got a very light easy linen scent. Fresh linen scent, which is nice for them not to perfume e and great for the house, Basic stuff like hand vacuums, dusting, cat toys, tidy, Seeing them up, so people don't trip on them, you know, want somebody to break a hit on the cabinet mouse, so, wicker baskets or decorative baskets, just keeping it out of the way. Okay, before we go, we got to talk about grey's anatomy after 19 seasons, Ellen Pompeo has departed the show. So what legacy do you think she's gonna leave behind? And what direction do you sort of see this show doing and going moving forward here? It's really interesting. I mean, I've been popping in and out as you may or may not know, um to this this season and it's been a really strong storylines, they've got a whole new batch of interns and the writing has never been stronger. Krista Vernoff runs the show and the writers make there's so many incredible writers that have been around for a long time and they are carrying on and it's the story line is what I'm doing, I'm really proud of and I'm really excited about it, and so, I mean, Ellen, it's like there's no Grey's Anatomy without Ellen. Ellen is just incredible and there'd be it would not be the show wouldn't be there without her and she'll come, she'll be kind of back in coming back and forth, but it's still, it's going strong and it's better than ever
