Ken Paxton's Lawyers Request Fraud Trial Delay

Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton appeared in a Houston court today after nearly a decade of facing charges for allegedly defrauding investors at a Dallas area tech startup. Paxson was indicted in 2015 but managed to evade stepping inside a courtroom on issues related to paying special prosecutors and disputes over where the trial would take place. Paxson's lawyers asked the Texas judge to hold off on setting a date for the fraud case trial citing the Texas Attorney General's ongoing impeachment. Paxson was impeached on May 27 th and is awaiting trial next month on a number of charges including bribery and obstruction of justice.
