Forbes just released its seventh annual "30 Under 30" list, featuring 600 of the brightest young innovators, across 20 categories, who are rewriting the rules for future generations. Alex Konrad, Staff Writer at Forbes, edited the category for venture capital, and weighs in on some of the biggest trends for this year's lineup. Konrad says that this year's venture capital list contains more women and people of diverse backgrounds than ever before. He also points out how the list has changed over the past 7 years, saying it has expanded into more categories to reflect the areas millennials are interested in. With a star-studded roster that includes Kendrick Lamar, Forbes is tipping its hat to leaders that are paving their own way, and making a lot of noise in their fields. Many of the leaders named to the list named Elon Musk as their dream mentor. Konrad thinks they love Musk because he "marches to his own drum" and has a long-term vision.
