Las Vegas Grand Prix Practice Delayed by Manhole Cover

The first practice in the Las Vegas Grand Prix was called off after just nine minutes when a manhole cover seriously damaged a formula one driver's car, Carlos Sainz of Spain drove over a water main cover that badly damaged his Ferrari causing organizers to call for a stop to the practice until the entire track could be examined and repaired. The second practice session was delayed until 2:30 a.m. local time and it was extended to 90 minutes. The Las Vegas Grand Prix takes place Saturday night.
