Jim Long, CEO of Didja, talks about the release of LocalBTV, an app which allows consumers to have access to local networks in their area. Long notes that he believes local TV is "having a renaissance" period, where even if you don't have a cable subscription, access to networks in the area is something most people want. We speak with Long about similar companies that have not succeeded and how LocalBTV is separating itself. He adds that the app works because it gets permission from all participating local channels, making it fully legal, and a platform that is both for the consumer and for the broadcaster. We talk about the app's cloud DVR capability, which does not operate with a box or antenna. We speak about future local expansions with major affiliates and possible plans to create native apps for devices like Roku.
