Celebrating 120 Years of Fun at Luna Park Coney Island

All morning long. Our senior reporter Michelle Castillo has been having a lot of fun at Luna Park, Coney Island earlier, she gave us some pointers on how to score at the game. Lobster pot. Let's see what else she's up to Michelle. Yes, we are here at Luna Park in Coney Island. I'm back here with Alessandro. So it's national roller coaster day tomorrow. And you guys have some of the most iconic roller coasters, but you've expanded more. So let's start with the oldest the cyclone. Tell me a little bit more about, about the cyclone. This wooden roller coaster that everyone talks about. The cyclone is the roller coaster the most iconic in the world built in 1927. It's truly the reference for all, you know, enthusiast, close to 3000 ft of track, everything, manual, everything authentic and it goes faster, smoother and safer, you know, with the age. And in addition to the cyclone, we have, you know, back to our shoulders, the the first custom mill steel roller coaster built in New York City, an amazing experience, a very much New York. So in 60 seconds, a lot of emotions, a lot of intensity, a lot of energy and then we have additional roller coaster ready for all ages. Minnie Mouse, the first roller coaster ever for a small child. And the next step is the Tony's Express. A great new addition open in 2023. A great family friendly roller coaster. We're going to go on and also our friend is going to ride with us. All right, my friend I named him Tony. So tell me, you know, you might have heard that big loud noise in the back. That's actually let's treasure, which intertwined. It's a water ride with Tony's Express. Now, you told me that they're named after some interesting people who are Letty and Tony. So we were super, super excited to have this, this great opportunity to expand and we had a no one but two major attraction. So Tony's Express, which is a roller coaster is named after my grandfather Antonio. So Tony is for Antonio and then the which is an amazing water ride that looks at the ocean with a 45 ft drop that reaches 30 MPH in a huge splash is then after my grandmother pizza while a very romantic way really for the best experience for all New Yorkers. Now, there's eight roller coasters on site here and there's also 30 but in total, there's 37 different things you can try. Can you tell me a little bit more about what other things that you've included? Since the expansion. Absolutely. So we have these two brand new attractions for a roller coaster and a water ride. We have the rope store, which is the first ever ocean side, you know, ropes courses where you get your harness, you kind of challenge yourself, you jump you zip line and looking at the ocean, beautiful, beautiful view. And then we have pedestrian plan again, something that really much needed some very safe and beautiful landscape and you know, pretty pretty outdoor areas, pedestrian areas. We had a new food options, a beer garden. We had a great funnel cake place called Sweet Drinks. And for the best wings in the borough, go to Moon Strike. Now, if you want to enjoy luna park, tell us a little bit about the different options. You can do so by Sanders a risk, man, you can for an all day pass or you can actually enjoy for free. It's great because again, it's really an open game amusement park. It means like you can just throw in, you know, do some people washing and then you know, when you have some hunger again, you can use a lunar card. So a lunar car works like a debit card. So you lose some dollars and you can pay again, food games rides a lunar car or for the best values of allows you to go on unlimited time on all the attraction for more than four hours. And that's again $65 online. Really? Two great options. Either a car or a, and you guys open, what's your hours? So 11 a.m. today on the weekdays and the weekends. Yeah, we open from 11 till 10 pm. Monday to Thursday and then from 11 to midnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All right. I'm really excited to try Tony. Why would I go to park and not get on a ride?
